m-destinations.blogspot.com - Lake Hillier is a pink colored Lake on Middle Island, the largest of the other islands that make up the Archipelago of the Recherche, Western Australia. The Lake has a pink colored water that resembles the color of bubble gum.

Lake Hillier has a size of approximately 600 meters, on the right, the left lake dotted with eucalyptus trees and paperbak. Dunes on the shores of the Lake and the surrounding lush growing trees separates Lake Hillier with the Southern Ocean. The presence of this Lake has brought devastating effects especially well to live a large number of native birds that migrate to the region or around the forests of Lake Hillier. So it was awarded as Important Bird areas (BIA) by Birdlife International.

The Lake has an area of along the 600 meters high, surrounded by sand dunes and lush forest with eucalyptus trees. The dunes and the wide variety of plants that surround the Lake separate it from the Southern Ocean.

Further, Lake Hillier found by a United Kingdom origin, cartographer Matthew Flinders in 1802. Then, the Flinders rise to the top highest in Middle Island which is currently known as Flinders Peak. Since the Lake is found up to now, it was as if unspoiled by tourists.

Unlike Lake pink or pink that is in other parts of the world, such as Lake Retba and salt ponds in San Francisco Bay, pink Lake Hillier is still a mystery.
